Anti-Bullying

What to do if you or someone you know is being bullied

The mark of a good school is how confident students feel that they can raise issues of bullying if they face them, and that when they do, they will be dealt with. At Woodbridge, we continue to put ‘kindness’ front and centre as a core value for us, making sure that we always come back to it when talking to students about their actions.

Students have a right to feel safe and happy at school. It’s important to remember that being bullied is not your fault. There’s nothing wrong with you, and you don’t have to go through it alone. Here’s what you should do if you’re worried that you, or someone you know, is being bullied:

Report It Get Support

Report bullying directly by telling any member of staff you trust (Your tutor, Year-Coordinator, or member of the
safe guarding team)

Inform one of the anti-bullying ambassadors.

You can also report incidents of bullying anonymously online by clicking HERE.

Speak to any member of staff you trust or one of the anti-bullying ambassadors and let them know that you would like further support.

Visit childline and the antibullying alliance websites for detailed information about bullying as well as advice for parents.

We have been working closely with 'Diana Award' and the 'Anti-Bullying Alliance' to focus further on our approach to anti-bullying, and I am delighted to announce that we have been awarded the prestigious 'Gold' status from the 'All Together' programme after they reviewed the progress made with our anti-bullying work. This was only possible through the amazing work of our student anti-bullying ambassadors who worked throughout the year to deliver assemblies, workshops and supported students involved in bullying behaviour, with the support of our Assistant Headteacher, Laura Evans. All staff and students made an anti-bullying pledge for the future during the year, and these were read and collated to form our anti-bullying charter.

Each year we look forward to welcoming new anti-bullying ambassadors, ensuring we all work together to uphold the values in the Woodbridge anti-bullying charter.

Dom Laws has taken over from Laura Evans this academic year and now leads our anti-bullying work. Please contact him for further details on dlaws@woodbridgehigh.co.uk
