A Level Results 2024
Year 13 students at Woodbridge High School received their very well-deserved A Level and Level 3 vocational and technical (VTQ) results. The school is again very pleased to report some excellent achievements by students this year.
At Woodbridge this year, 26% of all A Levels were graded A*-A and 55% were graded A*-B. In vocational courses, 53% of students achieved a Distinction or Distinction*. These results represent a significant achievement for the school.
Steven Hogan, Headteacher at Woodbridge High School, said: “Woodbridge students have once again achieved some outstanding results. They have been working hard for two years to achieve their well-deserved A Levels and VTQs. I am particularly pleased that so many of them have achieved the grades that they need to enable them to go on to study their chosen courses at universities across the country, or to take up apprenticeships in a range of companies."
“Our results also show that the school’s outstanding Sixth Form is providing excellent opportunities for students from the local area to excel in their chosen subjects, with one of the widest curriculum offers available locally. This year students have sat A Levels in subjects as wide-ranging as Design Technology, Music, Russian, German, History, Maths and Politics – to name just a few - as well as VTQs in Business, Health and Social Care and Sport."

GCSE Results 2024
Woodbridge High School is celebrating some excellent GCSE and Cambridge National results for students in year 11. A large number of students achieved outstanding outcomes in their exams, including some of the highest achievers who achieved straight grades 8 and 9. The school saw 29pc of all GCSEs graded at 7 or better. As well as this, 80pc of all students achieved grade 4 or better in both English and Maths. These are the best ever results for the school.
The majority of Woodbridge students will continue at the school as they join its outstanding Sixth Form. Woodbridge offers one of the widest ranges of A Level and vocational courses available locally.
Steven Hogan, Headteacher at Woodbridge High School, said: “Our year 11 students have made all of us so proud today. We talk a lot at Woodbridge about ‘aiming for excellence’ and that is exactly what our students have done once again this year.
I am particularly pleased about the fact that we have again seen our results increase on the previous year, as the school continues to go from strength to strength. These GCSE students faced Covid lockdowns in years 7 and 8, and despite this have gone on to great things.
The overall figures are fantastic, of course, but today we particularly celebrate every one of our students as an individual. GCSE exam grades act like a passport to the next stage in their lives for them, and I am so pleased that so many now have the opportunities that they deserve."
