Attendance & Punctuality
Please contact the school on the first and each subsequent day of any absence by telephoning 020 8504 9618 and selecting option 1. Parents can also complete the online reporting form to report absence on the link HERE. Statistics show that students with full attendance who always attend on time arrive much better prepared for work and are much more likely to be high achievers.
The school will not give any authorisation for students missing school to go on holiday. The school is entitled to consider taking a student off roll for prolonged absence.Woodbridge High School adopts the London Borough of Redbridge’s Attendance Strategy.
School gates are closed at 8.35am and registers are taken at 8.40 am. The school regards an attendance figure of 95% as good and a figure of below 90% over a period of time as a cause for concern, particularly if there is a pattern of frequent short term absence. The school involves Education Welfare as appropriate, an agency that will engage in home visits, penalty fines and court proceedings if attendance or punctuality matters are unresolved.
The Attendance Policy can be found HERE.
