Disadvantaged Subsidy Funds

Applicable to:

• Free School Meals Students (Pupil Premium)
• Previously Looked after Children (Pupil Premium+)

Please note that the school has a limited amount of funds available under the `Disadvantage Subsidy’. The purpose of this subsidy is to allow equal opportunity for all our pupils.  Accordingly, these funds may be used to support pupils and families in cases of financial hardship to allow pupils to access things including school trips, uniforms and music lessons through a discount applied to the total cost.

Educational Trips
Students who are in receipt of free school meals (Pupil Premium), or who are Looked After Children or previously Looked After Children (Pupil Premium Plus), are eligible for a discount. This is 50% of the visit cost up to a maximum of £200.  Please contact the visit leader for more information. The decision to award discounts and the amount, in exceptional cases, may increase at the discretion of the Assistant Headteacher.

Uniform
We have provision to support families with the procurement of school uniform. Furthermore, we have an excellent selection of free pre-worn uniforms that could help to supplement student supplies.

Music Lessons
If your child is in receipt of Free School Meals (FSM) and wants to participate in music lessons through the London Borough of Redbridge’s music tuition service, but the full cost might prevent them from doing so, the school may be able to offer financial support. 

KS5 (Sixth Form)
We are able to support KS5 students who are in receipt of FSM (free school meals) or have been in receipt of FSM in the last six years with a Bursary. Furthermore, resources which the school deems to be essential for the study of selected post- 16 courses will be provided for eligible students. Additional support can be requested by students during their curriculum programme and this may then be granted at the discretion of the school.
